Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev won his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Now collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial title since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt from March of that year.
The win also means he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, supported by an improved serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.
Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a tight final set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched the title with a point at the net area, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
